How to Use Atonm Color Recognition Sensor CL2-N3S1? (Two-Point Learning and Channel Switching)

Following the previous CL1-N3S1 installation guide, Atonm received customer inquiries about how to use the CL2-N3A1 Color Recognition Sensor. Today we cover two-point learning and channel switching operations for the multifunctional intelligent digital color sensor to help users get started quickly.

Step 1: Assembly

1. Insert the fiber

Open the sensor protective cover, press the latch, and insert the fiber. Insert the smaller-diameter fiber lead into the sensor's light-emitting hole (an arrow on the sensor indicates the connection position). After inserting, push the latch back to secure the fiber.

2. Connect the power

Connect the brown wire to 24V, the blue wire to 0V, and the black wire to the output point.

Step 2: Basic Operation

1. Fix the fiber probe and place the first color sample under the detection position. Press the set key once to learn; the sensor's green area will display SET.

2. Remove the first sample and place the second color sample, then press the learning key again. The sensor's green area will flash numbers; when the numbers stop flashing the learning is complete. Remove the sample and place the target color product; input 1 signal will light. Remove the target and the light will go off; placing the second color will light the other channel accordingly.

3. To switch channels and store a second color into channel 2, hold the model key and press the up key once until the sensor displays 2, then press the set key.

4. Remove the second color, place the first color and press set. When the numbers stop flashing the learning is finished. Placing the first target color will light channel 1 but not 2; placing the second color will light channel 2 but not 1.

Below is an operation demonstration video for the Atonm CL2-N3A1 color sensor to help users learn more intuitively.

Atonm's CL2-N3A1 supports triple 16-bit RGB computation and can detect nearly 3000 colors. It can precisely identify slight color differences (2-3 degrees). With an 8-channel output design, it can recognize 1-4 colors simultaneously and supports multiple dedicated color probes for various sizes and distances. Customers with multi-color detection needs may consider this sensor.
