Working Principle of Pneumatic Punch Press
A pneumatic punch press uses compressed air from a compressor routed through piping to a solenoid valve; a footswitch controls the valve to operate the cylinder and perform punching. It is suitable for punching various metal and non-metal pipes and plates. Below we explain how a pneumatic punch press works.

Working principle:
1. The pneumatic clutch transfers flywheel inertia to the crank, connecting the connecting rod and slider; the slider motion is forced by the crank linkage and follows a fixed motion profile.
2. Compressed air is delivered to the solenoid valve through piping; a footswitch controls the cylinder’s forward and return stroke to perform punching.
3. Compressed air can be stored in a tank so the motor avoids idling inefficiency. With the cylinder as the working component and the solenoid valve as the control element, the structure is simple, reliable and easy to maintain.
During loading for punch operations, overlap in feeding can occur and should not be ignored: overlapping feed wastes material and can damage presses if multiple sheets enter the punch. To prevent this, Atonm double-sheet detectors offer non-contact detection that avoids material damage while reliably stopping feeding when multiple pieces are detected.

Atonm provides several detector series for different industries:
1.900E Economy: a cost-effective solution with full-metal housing and LED display that supports auto-parameter matching for general double-sheet detection tasks.
2.1000B Standard: a robust detector with anti-interference circuit design and high-sensitivity probes for improved detection efficiency and accuracy.
3.1000L Lithium Version: a lithium-industry specific detector with custom M8/M12 small probes for high reliability.
4.1000C Communication Version: a general-purpose detector with Modbus-485 communication for easy material switching without repeated learning.
5.1200C Single-Learning: single-sheet learning via terminal for one-button setup.
6.8000S Single-Sensor: designed for large automotive parts where single-side probe installation is required to detect double feeding.
