Magnetic Scale Selection Guidelines for Linear Motors
Magnetic scales based on magnetic-field sensing provide precise positioning for linear motors and other automation equipment. When selecting a magnetic scale, consider the following factors:
1. Measurement range: choose a scale that covers the required travel.
2. Accuracy requirements: select accuracy appropriate to machining or system tolerance (e.g., ±5μm, ±10μm, ±20μm).
3. Resolution: higher resolution improves control precision for linear motors.
4. Linearity: pick products with good linearity to ensure uniform accuracy across the range.
5. Environmental adaptability: consider temperature, humidity, vibration and contamination resistance; choose dustproof/waterproof and anti-interference types as needed.
6. Interface type: ensure output signal type (TTL, HTL, Sin/Cos, etc.) matches your controller.
7. Installation method: select direct-mount or side-mount types based on space and assembly.
Atonm offers MH0, MRR and other series read heads with strong anti-interference and rugged designs suitable for harsh conditions. Evaluate measurement range, accuracy, resolution and environment to choose the right scale for reliable operation.
