Fiber Sensor | Tablet Counting Application in Pharmaceutical Production
Project Background:
A Dongguan health supplement manufacturer uses automatic bottling machines to fill fixed tablet counts (e.g., 20, 50, 100 per bottle). The production line requires an accurate counting sensor to stop the filler when the target count is reached.
Requirements:
1. Operate in no-light conditions inside machines. 2. Low cost per sensor due to high volume. 3. Fast response so each tablet passing is registered reliably.
Solution:
(Atonm FA1-S Fiber Sensor + PLC)
This solution uses the Atonm FA1-S fiber sensor as an on/off detector. When a tablet interrupts the beam, the sensor outputs a signal to the PLC; the PLC counts pulses and stops the filler when the preset count is reached. FA1-S supports features like automatic gain, anti-interference, and fast response suitable for high-speed counting.
