In automotive component stamping lines, efficient and accurate sheet detection is critical to ensuring product quality and improving production efficiency. A large automotive component manufacturer operates a stamping line that processes steel and aluminum sheets with a thickness of 1.4–1.8mm and dimensions of 1600mm×750mm. During stamping, double sheets must be prevented from entering the die to avoid die damage and ensure stamping quality, while also avoiding production delays and increased costs caused by equipment downtime.
To effectively address this challenge, the company adopted the Atonm MDSC-9000S contact-type single-probe double sheet detector.
The sensor probe of this detector is ingeniously mounted on the end effector, enabling the robot to conduct simultaneous single/double sheet detection while picking up sheets from the stack. Its unique design greatly enhances detection efficiency and ensures accurate inspection at the critical node of the production process.


The Atonm MDSC-9000S operates based on advanced electromagnetic induction and eddy current principles, boasting powerful functional features. Its built-in storage function for 200 sets of sheet parameters brings great convenience to the enterprise. When dealing with various specifications of steel and aluminum sheets, there is no need for repeated learning and setting every time, which greatly saves debugging time and improves production preparation efficiency. Moreover, the detector adopts an integrated design for magnetic and non-magnetic materials, perfectly adapting to the complex situation where both steel and aluminum sheets are used in the production line. It can achieve accurate detection without distinguishing between sheet types. At the same time, it supports terminal and bus control solutions, enabling easy integration into the enterprise's existing intelligent systems to realize intelligent and systematic control, which is highly consistent with the enterprise's intelligent manufacturing development strategy.
