The customer is mainly engaged in the production of electronic manufacturing equipment, and its chip mounters are widely used in various electronic product production workshops. With the increasing refinement of electronic products and the rising requirements for production efficiency, the precision and speed of the existing positioning and transmission systems of chip mounters can no longer meet production needs and are in urgent need of upgrading. During the operation of chip mounters, accurately positioning component positions and achieving high-speed and stable operation are crucial to ensuring product quality and improving production efficiency.
Insufficient Precision
The original positioning system struggles to meet high-precision requirements. When mounting tiny electronic components, position deviations often occur, leading to an increased product defect rate. For example, for some chips with extremely small pin pitches, poor pin soldering frequently happens due to positioning errors, which seriously affects product performance and qualification rates.
Speed Limitations
The equipment operating speed cannot keep up with the pace of large-scale production. When attempting to increase mounting speed, the stability of the original system drops sharply, resulting in freezes and jitters. This not only impairs mounting precision but also easily causes equipment failures and frequent downtime for maintenance, which greatly reduces production efficiency and increases production costs.
Stroke Restrictions
The existing positioning components have a limited stroke range, which cannot meet the ever-expanding working area requirements of chip mounters. When mounting components on some large-size circuit boards, it is impossible to achieve comprehensive and efficient mounting operations, which limits the application scope and production flexibility of the chip mounters.
The Atonm Magnetic Grid Readhead MH0-H200D-L06-0001 paired with the Magnetic Scale MB200 was introduced. The Atonm Magnetic Grid Readhead MH0-H200D-L06-0001 boasts outstanding performance advantages:
Its magnetic grid repeatability accuracy reaches 5 μm, which can accurately capture position changes during the movement of the chip mounter, providing precise position feedback for the mounter and ensuring electronic components are accurately mounted at designated positions on the circuit board.
Meanwhile, the readhead can adapt to a maximum operating speed of 2 m/s, maintaining stable data reading and transmission even under high-speed operation, thus guaranteeing the positioning accuracy and stability of the chip mounter during rapid operation.
The matched Magnetic Scale MB200 has a customizable length, meeting the stroke requirements of 600–800 mm. This effectively expands the working range of the chip mounter, enabling it to easily handle mounting tasks for circuit boards of different sizes.
