Double-Piece Detection Case | Atonm Double-Sheet Sensor Applied in BYD Blade Battery Production

Project Background

BYD launched a large-scale blade battery project requiring high-speed stacking. The blade battery stacking process runs at about 0.3s per piece and demands fast, reliable detection to prevent overlapping electrode tabs and mixed materials during stacking.

1. Precisely detect overlapping anode/cathode sheets during stacking;

2. Reduce material waste and stabilize production.

Solution

Atonm deployed the MDSC-1000L special edition for the lithium battery industry with custom M12 small probes to detect overlapping copper and aluminum tabs and mixed-material issues. After over a year of production use, the detector delivered reliable accuracy, effectively preventing scrap caused by overlapping sheets.
