Project Background
Midea operates multiple high-integration automated lines. During stamping and pickup operations, robotic grippers sometimes pick waste or multiple sheets, causing material waste and mold damage. Preventing multiple-sheet pickup is essential to protect molds and reduce material loss.

Objectives
1. Accurate detection of single vs. double sheets and reliable signal output;
2. Stable production with reduced labor and improved efficiency.
Solution
Atonm provided the MDSC-1000C series with square probe sensors. Installed on the feeding mechanism, the detector performs non-contact, material-agnostic detection with one-button learning of sheet parameters. Built-in MODBUS485 enables touchscreen control and one-click recipe recall to switch materials without manual re-tuning. After deployment, customers reported reduced material loss and improved yield.
