Foil Liner Single/Double Detection Solution

Project Background

In packaging, bottle cap liners are critical for sealing and safety—especially for food, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. Correct liner count prevents leakage and contamination. A robust detection system is needed to ensure each cap has the correct number of liners.

Double-sheet Detector

Requirements

- Detect 0, 1 or multiple liners

- 1 liner = pass

- 0 or ≥2 liners = fail

- System must output signals and light indicators for operator handling

 

Solution

We designed an intelligent system combining a metal double-sheet detector and fiber sensors:

1. Fiber sensor: position detection to ensure sampling only when the bottle is in place.

2. Working logic:

   - No liner: main unit "0" indicator and abnormal light turn on to alert operator.

   - One liner: "1" indicator lights and abnormal light stays off (pass).

   - Two liners: "2" indicator lights and abnormal light also turns on for operator action.
