Customer Background
In battery manufacturing, ensuring product quality and consistency is critical. A battery producer faced the challenge of detecting whether black end tape had double-sided adhesive applied, to avoid quality issues caused by poor adhesion.
Requirements
The customer required reliable detection of double-sided adhesive presence to enable subsequent sorting and handling.

Solution
Use the Atonm mark sensor CL4 with the following workflow:
1. Install the mark sensor above the line so it inspects the black end tape as the cell passes the spot.
2. Signal output and processing: the sensor outputs a signal based on detection and interfaces with robot controllers for automated handling.
3. Sorting:
1. Cells with adhesive: robot routes these to the green conveyor for compliant production.
2. Cells without adhesive: robot routes these to the yellow conveyor for manual inspection or processing.
Effects & Advantages
