In recent years, more companies seek domestic alternatives to reduce costs and improve efficiency. In automotive manufacturing, especially parts production, a key detection device is the dual-sheet sensor. Though small in proportion within the vehicle assembly system, it plays a crucial role by preventing double or multiple sheets from entering equipment. Increasingly, companies adopt domestic dual-sheet sensors to lower cost and raise production efficiency—reflecting a national trend toward localization of core components.
Customer
The customer, based in North China, focuses on stamping and welding solutions and equipment services for automotive parts. They have built in-house labs and body-in-white trial lines and developed proprietary digital systems.

Requirements
The customer upgraded a stamping line for automotive parts processing sheets up to 1.5m x 1.0m, thickness 0.5–2mm, with a dual-die press that must handle both magnetic and non-magnetic metals. They previously used the imported UDK20 and sought a domestic alternative with matching performance.
Atonm Metal Double-Sheet Detector MDSC-9000S

Solution
The Atonm MDSC-9000S matched the customer needs with these features:
1. One controller can connect two sensors to support multi-station automatic feed lines and detect stacking at different positions on the same sheet simultaneously, providing redundancy to protect presses and dies.
2. The metal dual-sheet sensor uses electromagnetic induction and eddy current principles; single-sided installation can detect single/double sheets on magnetic and non-magnetic plates.
3. Supports both terminal and bus control options for easy system integration.
4. Stores 200 parameter sets (thickness). When the line switches materials, operators can switch stored settings without re-learning. Fully PLC-controllable for different materials and thicknesses.
MDSC-9000S demonstrates excellent stability; the sampled sensor signals are amplified and filtered before entering the MCU ADC sampling port (see waveform comparison).

The MDSC-9000S provides a viable domestic replacement with high performance, intelligent features and strong local support—an ideal option for reducing cost and risk while improving efficiency.
Customer Benefits
The customer integrated MDSC-9000S into production and after field validation achieved zero missed or false reports, providing stable, reliable support for production.
