Atonm Color Sensor Applied in Noodle Factory (Detecting Presence of Ties on Noodle Packs)
Project Background
A Hebei noodle manufacturer produces flour and dried noodle products. To raise throughput, they upgraded the packaging line and needed to detect whether the tie on noodle packs is present; missing ties should trigger an alarm and stop the machine. The customer’s inspection is stationary with a detection distance around 50mm. Atonm proposed a color-sensor solution using two probes to check both ends of the noodle pack.
Solution
Engineers recommended CL1-N3S1 (NPN) color sensors, installing two units per station to detect ties on both ends. If a sensor detects a tie it outputs a signal and the pack advances. If either end is missing a tie, both units will not output the signal and the machine will pause for manual intervention.
Customer Benefits
After field validation, the solution was adopted and achieved zero missed and false reports. The stable operation won high recognition from the customer.
