Project Requirements

A Dongguan PCB factory needs automated conveyors to transport finished PCB boards and accurate detection of part arrival time and single/double-sheet state. The customer previously used imported sensors and sought a domestic alternative to reduce cost.

Solution

Atonm engineers visited the site to understand conditions and parameters, and selected the Atonm LD1-H400 Laser Sensor, mounted above the conveyor to measure distance to the target and accurately detect whether a part is present.

When a part passes the laser detection point, the light spot falls on the part and the measured distance is shorter; if no part is present, the spot falls on the conveyor and the measured distance is longer. The system distinguishes presence by distance.
