Which Brands of Intelligent Mark Sensors Exist? Where Are Mark Sensors Applied?
Mark sensors are commonly used to detect specific marks or spots on objects by comparing them with non-mark areas rather than directly measuring color. A mark sensor is typically mounted perpendicular to the target; the receiver and object are placed at an acute angle so the sensor receives scattered light from the target while avoiding direct reflections. Using these characteristics, mark sensors are widely used on bag makers, slitting machines, film cutters, packaging machines and other printing and packaging equipment.
Mark sensors provide different solutions for various users. Atonm mark sensors use three-color LED sources suitable for professional users. Their excellent contrast sensitivity can detect 16 gray levels and low-contrast marks, simplifying onsite operation for OEM customers.
Atonm mark sensors can detect subtle gray differences. Even when printed marks have low contrast vs. the background, Atonm sensors reliably detect them. Besides distinguishing black and white, mark sensors can detect various colors. With good 20-level gray resolution, they can handle low-contrast detection and expand application to challenging scenarios.
Two detection modes are available (selectable): color mode (LED indicator steady for color detection) and mark mode (indicator off). Choose based on application.
1. Mark mode [ultra-fast response]: automatically selects one of the three LEDs (R·G·B) for single-color high-speed detection, achieving 200 μs response. The LED auto-select function chooses the optimal LED for the test and suits high-speed detection.
2. Color mode [high-precision discrimination]: uses all three LEDs (R·G·B) to evaluate the reflected R·G·B ratio for high-precision color judgment, effective on patterned films around marks.
Applications in packaging:
● Bag positioning and sealing
● Film positioning in vertical packaging after filling
● Label edge detection during printing to prevent misfeed and for cutting
