Fully Automatic Warp Threading Machine Stop-Piece Double-Feed Overlap Solution

Modern apparel demands higher styles and quality. To meet the competitive garment market, textile mills must rapidly sample and ramp up fabric production. Fully automatic warp threading machines respond quickly and significantly shorten production setup time.

STAUBLI offers a series of SAFIR warp threading machines that provide advanced weaving preparation (including style change) technology. Continuous R&D investment has produced a wide product range covering most SAFIR threading applications. The latest model in the series is the high-performance SAFIRS32 for filament yarns.

Automatic Threading Machine

Based on the SAFIR S30 platform, the SAFIRS32 offers significantly higher threading speed. The machine arranges yarns and springs in an O-shaped distribution and can be configured for cam-opening devices or multi-arm water-jet looms, relying on perfectly arranged yarns from 8/12/16 combined rods.

The SAFIRS32 is a mobile threading machine that can serve two or more threading stations. Whether measuring picks per minute or daily production capacity, it delivers top-level performance while keeping yarns in optimal condition. This high-performance machine is standardly equipped with double-head detection: an active warp control technology that plays a key role in high-quality warp preparation and improves downstream weaving efficiency.

With a 360cm width capacity, SAFIRS32 can process wide warp beams and is suitable for high-speed multi-layer yarn separation. For example, two warp beams with different yarn counts can be threaded together.

Common stop-piece materials are typically 11mm wide and 0.2–0.6mm thick stainless steel strips. The pick-feeding unit consists of a feeding mechanism, a pick unit and a buffer turntable. During pick handling, overlapping pieces may occur. If double stop-pieces are threaded, the added weight can affect the insertion unit. Therefore, it is necessary to detect stacked pieces immediately after picking to prevent double stop-pieces entering the next process and ensure normal equipment operation.
