Principles and Applications of Rope Sensors and Magnetic Scales
Cable (rope) sensors and magnetic scales are two commonly used position measurement devices with different principles and application domains.

Rope sensors measure position by tracking the extension of a cable connected to the object; as the object moves, cable length changes are converted to position information. Rope sensors are simple, low-cost and easy to install, suitable for less demanding precision applications such as large-range position monitoring.
Magnetic scales offer high-precision position measurement by using a magnetic scale and a sensor head to detect changes in the magnetic field. They provide high accuracy, good anti-interference capability and long life, making them ideal for CNC machines and precision equipment.
Both types are widely used in industrial automation and other fields. Choose the appropriate sensor based on accuracy requirements and application environment to achieve precise position monitoring and control.
