What Is a Color Sensor
Overview:
A color sensor detects surrounding colors and converts them into digital signals by using color filters and photosensitive elements to sense different wavelengths and translate light into electrical signals for color output.
Principle:
Color sensors work on the trichromatic principle, using red, green, and blue channels. The sensor emits broadband light and measures the reflected red, green, and blue intensities to compute color ratios.

White objects reflect all three colors. By comparing channel ratios, sensors distinguish colors. Applications include industrial automation for color/defect detection, cameras, scanners, and color measurement instruments.
Market outlook: With AI, IoT, and related technologies, the color sensor market is expanding and offers broad prospects for quality and precision monitoring.
