What Causes Mark Sensor Instability?
Mark sensor may become unstable during use, which can lead to inaccurate or inconsistent color detection results and cause issues in production and inspection processes.
Atonm Mark sensors are widely used in automated packaging, automotive component manufacturing, lithium battery assembly, and other industries, and customers generally praise their stability.

Below, Atonm technical staff discuss several causes of Mark sensor instability:
1. Lighting issues
The measurement principle of a Mark sensor is based on reflected light. Therefore, the quality and stability of the light source are critical to sensor stability. Poor or unstable light will cause unstable readings. Ambient lighting and daylight should also be considered: changes in light intensity or color temperature may cause unstable readings.
2. Environmental factors
Mark sensors require a stable environment, such as steady temperature, humidity, and air pressure. If the environment is unstable or changes too rapidly, sensor readings may fluctuate.
3. Instrument issues
Instrument stability is also a key factor. Poor-quality or aged instruments can produce unstable readings. Calibration and timely maintenance are important; inaccurate calibration or neglected maintenance can lead to instability.
4. Sample issues
Sample quality and condition also affect sensor stability. Contaminants such as dust or grease on the sample surface can cause unstable readings. Surface scratches or unevenness can also lead to inconsistent results.
5. Sensor parameter settings
Mark sensors require parameter settings such as sensitivity and filtering. Incorrect parameter configuration can cause unstable readings.
