How Do Color Sensors Work? Common Applications?
Color sensors are widely used in industry, medical fields, and daily life, but truly stable color-recognition sensors are rare. What makes them challenging? Today the Atonm team discusses color sensors.
How do color sensors work?
Color sensors detect surface color by measuring reflected and absorbed light, converting this into signals. These signals can control robots, automated lines, and other devices to identify and sort products.
Causes of misdetection:
1. Ambient lighting and conditions affect reflected light, causing errors.
2. Light-source degradation: long-term use may lead to light decay, reducing accuracy.
Atonm provides on-site guidance for customer lighting conditions; Atonm color discrimination sensors are continuously upgraded with AI image recognition to optimize light decay issues.
Applications
Industrial automation: ensure product color consistency on production lines (e.g., food processing color checks).
Robot vision navigation: identify and track colored markers to assist navigation and tasks.
Color sensors have broad applications and help improve automation and product quality.
