Displacement Measurement | Displacement Sensors | Magnetic Scale Products and Features

1. Eddy current sensors

Eddy current sensors convert non-electrical quantities into impedance changes for measurement. They allow non-contact measurement with large range and high sensitivity (typical ranges from 1 mm to several mm), are resistant to oil and contaminants, simple in structure and easy to install, but are relatively expensive.

2. Capacitive displacement sensors

Capacitive sensors enable non-contact measurement in ranges typically 20–1250 µm. They are suitable for small-scale displacement measurement with high sensitivity and resolution, low zero drift and wide frequency response, though range is limited and external interference can affect readings.

3. Hall effect displacement sensors

Hall devices are robust, compact, long-lived, low-power and vibration-resistant. They measure small displacements (1–2 mm) and are cost-effective. Hall linear devices offer good linearity and high position repeatability (µm-level) with wide operating temperature ranges.

4. Magnetic scale displacement detectors

Magnetic scales are displacement sensors cheaper than optical gratings, with simple manufacture, easy installation, wide measurement ranges (from 0.001 mm to several meters), and strong anti-interference capability. Typical resolutions 1–5 µm and system accuracy around ±0.01 mm/m. Open magnetic scales are susceptible to external magnetic fields; sealed types avoid this issue.

Magnetic scales work via magnetic interaction between the scale and read head, often in near-contact operation. Atonm magnetic read heads are compact, full-metal, use imported flexible shielded cable and robust anti-interference design, with selectable high resolutions (1 µm, 5 µm, 10 µm) and suitability for harsh environments.
