The customer is a manufacturer specializing in the production of calligraphy and painting felts. With the continuous growth of market demand, the original manual cutting production mode can no longer meet the increasing order volume. Moreover, manual cutting has such problems as unstable precision and low efficiency, which seriously restrict the enterprise's development. To improve production efficiency and product quality, the manufacturer decided to carry out automated transformation of the production line. The equipment needs to be equipped with a new color mark sensor to assist in positioning and cutting, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the cutting process, so as to reduce costs, increase efficiency and enhance the enterprise's market competitiveness.
The calligraphy and painting felt production line operates at a speed of 10 meters per minute, which puts forward high requirements for the performance of the color mark sensor.
First of all, the sensor must have fast response capability. It should be able to timely capture the cutting mark signal during the high-speed movement of the calligraphy and painting felt, so as to avoid cutting position deviation caused by response delay.
Secondly, the production line will vibrate during operation. The sensor must have a certain range of vibration tolerance, be able to accurately identify the mark position, and the error should be controlled within an extremely small range to ensure the consistency of cutting dimensions.
In addition, there are complex environmental factors such as dust and light changes in the calligraphy and painting felt production workshop. This requires the sensor to have good stability and environmental adaptability, be able to work continuously and stably under different lighting conditions and dust environments, and ensure the continuity of the production process.

In this automated transformation project, the Atonm Color Mark Sensor CL4 stood out and became the key device to solve the customer's cutting challenges. In the actual production process, the CL4 demonstrated strong advantages by virtue of its outstanding performance.
The Atonm Color Mark Sensor CL4 works by learning the specific marks on the calligraphy and painting felt. During production, when a specific mark passes under the sensor's light spot, the sensor responds rapidly to accurately identify the mark and output a signal.
The sensor achieves seamless integration with the PLC system. Upon detecting a color mark, the CL4 immediately transmits a signal to the PLC. The PLC then executes precise delay control according to pre-set programs, ensuring the cutting device operates at the optimal moment. This precise coordination enables the cutting process to run efficiently and stably, significantly reducing the scrap rate caused by inaccurate cutting and effectively guaranteeing the quality of finished products.
In addition, the Atonm Color Mark Sensor CL4 offers high reliability and excellent environmental adaptability. It can handle complex workshop conditions such as dust and light fluctuations, maintaining stable performance under varying lighting and production environments. Its strong adaptability makes it suitable not only for calligraphy and painting felt cutting but also for a wide range of applications, including printed material slitting and packaging material cutting, providing reliable detection solutions for various production lines.
By introducing the Atonm Color Mark Sensor CL4, the calligraphy and painting felt manufacturer successfully completed the automated transformation of its production line. The efficiency and accuracy of the cutting process have been significantly improved, and production has become more stable and reliable. This serves as a highly valuable reference for similar enterprises undergoing their own automation upgrades.
