The customer is a high-tech enterprise specializing in the design and production of power supplies for portable devices. With years of dedicated operation in the industry, it has accumulated profound technical expertise and rich production experience. Its extensive range of products is widely applied in professional video cameras, mobile phones, digital cameras, walkie-talkies, PDAs and other digital products as well as other power equipment. Relying on stable performance and reliable quality, the enterprise has secured a significant position in the market.
As market competition intensifies, the customer has imposed higher requirements on production processes and quality inspection of products. Particularly, in the adhesive sticker detection process, it is essential to accurately determine whether specific-specification adhesive stickers are pasted correctly to ensure the overall performance and quality of products.
The customer currently needs to verify the application of designated 3M double-sided adhesive tapes on one of its products. Specifically, the adhesive stickers to be detected include black adhesive tapes (36mm in width) and double-sided adhesive tapes (3mm in width). The samples provided by the customer consist of black adhesive tapes paired with beige double-sided adhesive tapes.
Accurately detecting the presence of these two types of adhesive stickers during production is critical to ensuring the assembly quality and operational reliability of products. Improper pasting or missing of adhesive stickers may lead to loosening or falling off of equipment components, impairing the normal operation of products and even resulting in poor user experience.
To meet the customer’s detection requirements, we recommended the CL1 color sensor configured in C-L mode. The CL1 color sensor is characterized by high precision, high sensitivity and fast response, enabling accurate identification of adhesive stickers with different colors and specifications.
During the testing process, we first conducted a detailed analysis of the samples provided by the customer and configured relevant parameters to ensure that the sensor could accurately capture the color characteristics of both black adhesive tapes and beige double-sided adhesive tapes.
After placing the samples at the detection station, we activated the CL1 color sensor for testing. In C-L mode, the sensor performed precise measurements of the color parameters (e.g., brightness, chromaticity) of the black and beige adhesive tapes respectively, and compared the measured data against preset standard parameters.
The test results showed that the CL1 color sensor could clearly and accurately identify both black adhesive tapes and beige double-sided adhesive tapes. It demonstrated excellent performance in both edge detection and overall presence detection of adhesive stickers, fully meeting the customer’s high-precision requirements for adhesive sticker inspection.

To allow the customer to intuitively experience the detection performance of the CL1 color sensor, we provided on-site trial operation services. The CL1 color sensor was installed on the corresponding detection equipment of the customer’s production line to conduct adhesive sticker inspection on actual products. After a period of trial operation, the customer reported that the trial effect was extremely satisfactory — the detection accuracy and stability of the CL1 color sensor were both superior to those of similar imported brand products. The customer clearly stated that they would replace sensors in subsequent production line renovations with Atonm color sensors.
Specifically, in terms of detection speed, the CL1 color sensor can quickly complete adhesive sticker inspection for each product, improving production efficiency. In terms of detection precision, it can accurately identify subtle color differences and adhesive sticker specification deviations, effectively avoiding missed detection and false detection. In addition, the CL1 color sensor also features simple operation and low maintenance costs, reducing the customer’s operational difficulty and production costs.
This application case demonstrates that the CL1 color sensor has played a crucial role in the detection of adhesive stickers for portable device power supplies. It not only meets the customer’s high-precision requirements for adhesive sticker detection but also proves its performance is superior to imported brand products through excellent trial operation results, providing the customer with a more cost-effective detection solution.
For the customer, the adoption of the CL1 color sensor has achieved precise detection of product adhesive stickers, improved the level of product quality control, reduced product defects and after-sales issues caused by adhesive sticker problems, and enhanced the market competitiveness of products. Meanwhile, it has accumulated experience and laid a foundation for the customer to introduce more advanced detection technologies and equipment in subsequent production processes.
