The customer is an enterprise specializing in the R&D and integration of automated equipment. Recently, it has undertaken a backplane production line project for a well-known monitor manufacturer. In the robot feeding process, the customer needs to ensure that there is no overlapping (double-sheet) of aluminum sheets before they enter the stamping die, so as to avoid material waste and mold damage risks caused by double sheets. The traditional manual detection method is inefficient and has hidden dangers of missed detection, so the customer is in urgent need of an efficient and stable automated detection solution.

Sheet Material: The production line uses aluminum sheets. Aluminum is lightweight with good electrical and thermal conductivity, but due to its soft texture, it is prone to adhesion and overlapping during stacking and feeding.
Sheet Size: 70*45cm. The large size imposes higher requirements on position accuracy and single-sheet separation during robot feeding. Once double or multiple sheets overlap, the impact after entering the stamping die is more extensive.
Sheet Thickness: 2mm. Detection equipment must accurately distinguish between single and double sheets.
Equipment Selection: Atonm MDSC-900E Metal Double Sheet Detector with square probe. The MDSC-900E is widely recognized in the industry for its high precision and stability.
Working Principle: The MDSC-900E emits a magnetic field of a specific frequency through the square probe. When an aluminum sheet passes the probe, it causes a change in the magnetic field. Single and double aluminum sheets produce different magnetic field change characteristics. The intelligent algorithm inside the detector analyzes and judges based on these characteristics to accurately distinguish single from double sheets.
Installation Method: The square probe is installed next to the robot feeding device. After the robot grabs the sheet and places it on the workbench, the sensor first performs single/double sheet detection before the sheet is grabbed into the stamping die. The controller of the MDSC-900E is installed in a position convenient for operation and observation, allowing staff to monitor detection data and equipment status in real time.
Linkage Mechanism: When the MDSC-900E detects double sheets, it immediately sends a signal to the robot control system, pausing the feeding action to prevent double sheets from entering the stamping die.
By adopting the solution of the Atonm MDSC-900E Metal Double Sheet Detector with a square probe, the customer successfully solved the single/double sheet detection problem in robot feeding for the monitor backplane production line. This solution not only effectively avoided material waste and mold damage, but also improved production efficiency and product quality, bringing significant economic and social benefits to the customer. This case fully demonstrates the important role and excellent application effect of the Atonm Metal Double Sheet Detector in automated production lines, and provides a successful reference for feeding detection in similar production lines.
