Project Background

The customer is a company focused on custom projects and recently received an automotive parts stamping feeder upgrade. The feeder previously used a high-cost imported German double-sheet detector. Solution

Based on customer needs, Atonm provided a customized double-sheet detection solution to inspect sheet state before stamping, ensuring no stacked sheets enter the press and maintaining production efficiency and product quality.

1. Equipment configuration：

   - Sensor model: Atonm metal double-sheet control unit MDSC-8200S (2-channel magnetic type)

   - Sensor quantity: 2 (one-to-two design)

   - Installation: Sensors mounted on both sides of the robot gripper to monitor sheet ends for comprehensive detection.

2. Functional design：

   - One-to-two design, dual redundancy: Two sensors monitor different sheet ends. If one sensor misses detection, the other provides redundancy to reduce error.

   - High sensitivity, real-time feedback: MDSC-8200S can accurately detect sheet state in the 0.2-4.0mm range (single, double, multiple). When stacking is detected it outputs a double-sheet signal and the PLC handles the condition (such as stop and manual intervention or move stacked sheets to a holding area).

   - Communication support and seamless system integration: MDSC-8200S magnetic double-sheet sensor supports Profinet, RS-485, and terminal control for data logging and analysis, enabling process optimization and better decision making.
