**Application Case of Atonm Single/Double Sheet Detector MDSC-900E in Hardware Stamping**

1.  Project Background

The customer of this cooperation is a professional manipulator manufacturer, which has recently undertaken a hardware stamping automated production line project. In the punch feeding process of this production line, there is a key problem: it is necessary to accurately detect whether double-sheet occurs during feeding, so as to coordinate with the manipulator feeding work and prevent double-sheet from entering the die. Once double-sheet enters the die, it may not only cause the scrapping of stamped products, but also damage the die, affecting the normal operation and production efficiency of the production line.

2.  Solution

To meet this requirement of the customer, we provided a solution consisting of the Atonm Metal Single/Double Sheet Detector MDSC-900E paired with a circular probe.

Project Details

1.  Install the double-sheet detector at a proper position in the front end of the stamping process.

2.  The manipulator feeds the sheet metal to the detection station.

3.  The air cylinder at the detection station pushes the sensor of Atonm Metal Single/Double Sheet Detector MDSC-900E to detect the sheet metal.

4.  After the detector confirms that the sheet metal is a single sheet, it sends a release signal.

5.  Upon receiving the release signal, the manipulator grabs the sheet metal and sends it to the punching machine for stamping operation.
