The customer is a leading enterprise in China's stamping automation sector, having undertaken a stamping production line project for a new vehicle model of an automotive enterprise in Jiangsu Province. The end client is a leading domestic new energy vehicle manufacturer, which has imposed stringent requirements on the processing precision of thin metal parts and equipment stability during the construction of the new production line. Given that double-sheet adhesion is prone to occur during high-speed material handling in the production line, a reliable double-sheet detection solution is required to address the issue of overlapping materials during loading, so as to ensure production continuity and yield rate.
The working conditions of the end production line are as follows:
Material: Iron
Thickness: 0.7-1.2mm
Production Line Speed: Cycle time of 6 spm
Core Equipment Selection
The Atonm MDSC-8200S Contactless Double Sheet Detector is adopted, with the deployment scheme as follows:
First Detection Point: Installed on the destacking end effector (the starting end of loading), it monitors in real time whether the metal sheets grabbed from the stack are overlapped.

Second Detection Point: Installed on the visual alignment table (positioning station before stamping) for secondary verification of the single-layer status of the sheet, ensuring no overlapping sheets enter the stamping process.

Dual Safeguard Mechanism: Dual-node detection at both the "destacking station and alignment table" completely eliminates the risk of missed detection caused by single-point detection failure.
High Adaptability:
Supports the detection of magnetic conductive metal sheets with a thickness range of 0.2-4mm.
Built-in storage for 200 sets of sheet material recipes, enabling quick switching of detection parameters for different specifications of metal sheets and adapting to multi-variety flexible production.
Intelligent Integration:
Supports multiple communication methods including Profinet, RS485 and terminal control, achieving seamless connection with the customer's PLC system to realize real-time alarm and production line interlock control.
A single device can connect 2 sensors, reducing hardware deployment costs.
Damage Prevention: Prevents overlapped sheets from entering the stamping press and causing mold damage, reducing equipment maintenance costs.
Process Coordination: Works in synergy with the visual alignment system to improve stamping positioning accuracy and overall production efficiency.
Localization Replacement for Cost Reduction and Efficiency Improvement
Significant Equipment Cost Optimization: The new production line adopts Atonm MDSC-8200S, a domestic brand double-sheet detection solution, which drastically reduces procurement costs compared with imported equipment on the old production line.
