Customer Profile:
The customer is a well-known automotive parts manufacturer with multiple production bases. This application requires stacking detection devices on the automotive side panel plasma welding line to work with robot feeding and ensure accurate sheet pickup.
Solution:
Atonm engineers recommended installing a contact-type single-probe "1-to-2" Metal Double-Sheet Detector with communication — MDSC-9000S. Two probe heads are mounted on the robot; while the robot grabs the metal sheet, the sensors detect sheet stacking in real time. On abnormal detection (double or multiple sheets), an alarm is issued and the robot places the abnormal sheet aside for rechecking.
